UF Statistics Club
Who are we?
The American Statistical Association is the world’s largest community of statisticians, the “Big Tent for Statistics.” It is the second oldest, continuously operating professional association in the country. Since it was founded in Boston in 1839, ASA has supported excellence in the development, application, and dissemination of statistical science through the following, but not limited to: meetings, member services, education, publication, advocacy, and accreditation. The UF Statistics Club also serves as the official undergraduate student chapter of the ASA. Many of our members serve in industry, government, and academia in more than 90 countries, with the intent of advancing research and promoting sound statistical practice to inform public policy and improve human welfare. As such, we welcome everyone who is interested in statistical applications regardless of their majors at University of Florida.
Membership
While the UF Statistics Club has no induction fee, members are welcome to join the American Statistical Association to get a variety of perks and opportunities for your future career. Some of these perks include but are not limited to the following: connections, ASA publications, ASA career connect and services, ASA professional development and meetings, members only discounts, and many volunteer opportunities. Since you are also a student under University of Florida, your membership is also at a discount compared to regular membership!
