Class Policies & Procedures
These guidelines address common registration and academic issues. Important: Students must always adhere to the specific course syllabus provided by their instructor for detailed class-level policies.
Registration Support
Enrollment occurs during official periods listed in the Dates and Deadlines calendar.
🔒 Registration Restrictions & Major Reserves
Some courses have specific enrollment restrictions beyond standard prerequisites. These restrictions may be temporary or permanent.
Advanced Registration Window (Temporary)
The following high-demand courses are temporarily reserved exclusively for declared majors during the initial 2 weeks of the advanced registration period. Non-majors must wait until the date these restrictions are lifted on ONE.UF to enroll.

Permanent Section Restrictions
- STA 4211: This course offers two sections each term. One section is permanently restricted to STA BA/BS majors (as it is a program requirement), and the other section is open to all other students.
If you are officially declared in the required program but still receive a restriction error, please contact the Undergraduate Coordinator.
➕ Late Add / Departmental Control
To add a course after add/drop or to enter a departmentally controlled class:
- Obtain written approval from the Instructor listed on ONE.UF.
- Ask the instructor to email their approval to the Office Manager and Undergraduate Coordinator.
- Submit the request via ONE.UF Drop/Add. You must provide the 5-digit class number.
*Note: Requests made more than one week after add/drop are denied.
🚫 Full Classes & Waitlists
If a class is full, students should utilize the course waitlist on ONE.UF. For detailed instructions on how the waitlist functions, visit the Office of the Registrar.

Academic Accommodations & Absences
♿ Disabilities
Register first with the Disability Resource Center (DRC). You must provide your DRC documentation to the instructor prior to submitting any assignments for which you require accommodation.
📅 Make-Up Exams
Contact your instructor prior to the exam. Valid documentation is required. Make-ups must generally be scheduled within one week of the deadline.

Drops & Withdrawals
Late drops and withdrawals are governed by University policy. Visit the UF Academic Regulations for official procedures.
Incomplete Grades
Assigned at instructor discretion only for extenuating circumstances where a major portion of the course is complete. See CLAS Incomplete Policies.
