This certificate will provide students with the tools necessary to prepare data for analysis and use proper analytic tools. It will also equip them to understand the issues associated with the ethical use of data (e.g., personal health information) and potential biases in the generation, analysis, and use of data.
Current UF undergraduates with at least 2.0 GPA. Open to students in any major except for data science and statistics.
Requirements for completion (12 credits total)
All coursework must be passed with a minimum grade of a B- to count for the Certificate. Detailed information can be found in the catalog entry.
- STA 3100 Programming with Data in R
- PHI 3681 Ethics, Data and Technology OR WST 3610 Gender, Race, and Science
- STA 3180 Statistical Modeling
- An elective 3 credit course that applies what was learned in the first three courses to a real-world application.
