Congratulations to Heejun Shin and Zhuochao Huang, ASA paper winners

Former PhD student, Heejun Shin’s paper, “A spatial interference approach to account for mobility in air pollution studies with multivariate continuous treatments” was selected for the Norman Breslow Early Career Award with a $1000 stipend by the American Statistical Association Section on Statistics in Epidemiology and will present is paper at this year’s JSM in August. This paper was co-authored with current faculty member (and Heejun’s advisor) Joey Antonelli.

Zhuochao Huang’s paper, “Causal inference and racial bias in policing: New estimands and the importance of mobility data”, was selected as a winner of the ASA’s SRMS/GSS/SSS 2025 Student Paper Competition. This award also comes with a $1000 stipend.  Zhuochao has been asked to attend the JSM this August to present his work. This paper was also co-authored with current faculty member Joey Antonelli.
